MOURINHO'S STATEMENT
Mourinho made a statement after the match, saying, "If there was a Turkish referee, Yusuf would have been shown a card at the beginning of the match and I would have had to take him off the game. I have to thank the referee because in the position I mentioned, everyone on the other bench was jumping like monkeys." Galatasaray perceived the Portuguese coach's statement as racism and announced that they would file a complaint against Mourinho.
SUPPORT FROM DROGBA
Former Galatasaray football player Didier Drogba supported the Portuguese coach with a post on his social media account.
"HOW COULD MY FATHER BE A RACIST?"
Didier Drogba shared the following statement: "You know how proud I am to wear the yellow-red jersey and my love for the best club in Turkey!
We all know how passionate and heated rivalries can be and I was lucky enough to experience it myself. I saw the recent comments about Jose Mourinho. Trust me when I say I have known Jose for many years and he is not a racist and history (past and recent) is there to prove it.
Let's focus on our matches, support our lions and win the league to get closer to our 5th star. How can "my" dad be racist? Come on guys.
